Mestalla hosts blood drive with over 500 donations

A blood drive was held at Mestalla this Tuesday, with over 500 blood donations made. It was the latest collaboration between Valencia CF -through the VCF Foundation- and the Valencia regional Transfusion Center. This was the first such action at the stadium since February 2020, after which the pandemic prevented the regular event.
Each person who gave blood received a free ticket for the game between Valencia CF and CA Osasuna match this Saturday.
During the day, president of Valencia CF, Anil Murthy, director general of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, club ambassador, Miguel Ángel Bossio, Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, and the director general of the Transfusion Center, Cristina Arbona, attended Mestalla. They were accompanied by the Head of Nursing, Teresa Atienza, and the Head of Services, Roberto Roig.
The club and the centre have been collaborating for more than 20 years, with 28 blood drives held at Mestalla with more than 14,000 donors.
Despite the pandemic, Valencia CF, through the VCF Foundation, have continued to support the centre by promoting blood donation.
Gifts of VCF masks for blood donors, as well as and VCF scarves for plasma donors who go to the Transfusion Center, have been provided as added incentives to help this good cause.
